Custom House Reception Celebrates Milestone for GHF

On Saturday, June 26, nearly 200 friends of Galveston Historical Foundation gathered at the 1861 Custom House to celebrate the transfer of ownership of the building to GHF from the federal government. A great evening! The event also marked GHF's new Column Campaign, in which campaign donors of $1000 "purchase" one of Custom House's 48 Ionic and Corinthian columns – with plaque recognition at Custom House.
