Galveston Historical Foundation Blankets Neighborhoods with Flood Damage Remediation Info
As homeowners make their way back onto Galveston Island after evacuating for Hurricane Ike, many are returning to homes with carpets, walls, furniture, treasured papers and photographs that have suffered flood damage and have been succombing to mold for more than a week.

Galveston Historical Foundation (GHF) has prepared information sheets for homeowners to help them face the challenge of saving their home and possessions from the ravages of mold and water damage. On Tuesday, September 21, GHF staff and volunteers began going door-to-door in the island's neighborhoods, beginning with the East End Historic district, to distribute mold and flood remediation information packets and to offer "flood buckets" to householders.
