GHF Authors to Appear at Houston History Book Fair Saturday

Two Galveston Historical Foundation local history authors will speak at the Houston History Book Fair Saturday, November 13, at the Heights Church of Christ. Brian Davis, author of "Lost Galveston," and Kurt Voss, author of "Galveston's The Elissa, the Tall Ship of Texas," will join 12 other authors presenting lectures and panel discussions about their local history books from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for sale and signing. The book fair runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m and is sponsored by Houston Arts & Media and Story Sloane's Gallery. A different author will speak about his/her book every half hour plus an Arcadia Publishing panel at midday will cover researching and publishing a book on area history. The Heights Church of Christ, built in 1924, a designated City of Houston Landmark, is located at 16th and Heights Boulevard. The event is sponsored by Houston Arts and Media and Story Sloane Gallery.
