1877 Tall Ship ELISSA to Embark on Annual Daysail Series, Including One-Week Visit to Bayport Cruise Terminal in Houston, Beginning this Friday, March 20

Beginning this Thursday, March 19, Galveston Historical Foundation’s tall ship Elissa will be closed for public tours in Galveston as she is engaged in her annual series of daysails, an overnight voyage, and a week-long visit to the Bayport Cruise Terminal in Houston.

While docked at Bayport, Monday, March 30 through Sunday, April 5, Elissa will be open for school visits and public tours. The ship will return to her berth at Pier 22 in Galveston on Monday, April 6, and reopen to the public at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8.

Elissa departs from and returns to port with a volunteer crew commanded by Coast-Guard-licensed officers and a complement of passengers, all of whom are invited guests of the historical foundation.

Itinerary for the spring excursion of the 1877 square-rigger Elissa, "The Official Tall Ship of Texas." All departures and arrivals are from Galveston's Pier 19. All times are approximate and subject to change depending upon weather conditions.

Friday, March 20
Shakedown cruise departs 10 a.m., returns 4 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22
Day sail departs 10 a.m., return 4 p.m.

Monday, March 23
Day sails 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and noon to 6 p.m.

Tuesday, March 24
Day sail 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursday, March 26
Overnight sail departs 8 a.m.

Friday, March 27
Overnight sail returns 2 p.m.

Saturday, March 28
Day sail 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, March 29
Day sail 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Depart for Bayport Cruise Terminal 4 p.m.

Monday-Friday, March 30-April 3
Open for tours by school groups 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
