Hand Bell Choirs perform traditional holiday favorites at St. Joseph’s Church Museum. Built in 1859 as the first German Catholic church in Texas, St. Joseph remains the oldest wooden church building in Galveston.

Join author Lucinda Dickens Hawksley for a traditional English dinner in the ballroom of the oldest Victorian mansion on Broadway, Ashton Villa. Ms. Hawksley, great-great-great granddaughter of Charles Dickens, will address the subject on why her grandfather decided to write A Christmas Carol and what impact the novel had on holiday celebrations. Copies of Charles Dickens’ works will be available for purchase.

Experience the unique opportunity to tour Galveston Island's masterpiece, the imposing 1892 Bishop's Palace literally from bottom to top. Colonel Walter and Josephine Gresham commissioned Nicholas Clayton, Galveston's premier architect, to design and build what is arguably the finest of the “Broadway beauties.” Guests will view areas, not normally open to the public, of this grand structure named the 14th most important Victorian building in America by the American Institute of Architects. Holiday music and light refreshments compliment this very special tour.
Group Tours
Reservations for groups of 20 or more require a 25 percent deposit paid at time of reservation. Additional reservations can be added, if space is available, with additional deposit paid at time of added reservation. All reservations require full payment by October 15, 2010.
