Galveston Monthly Farmers' Market to be Held this Saturday, August 11, in Historic Downtown's Saengerfest Park

This Saturday, August 11, from 8 to 2, Galveston's monthly Farmers' Market at Saengerfest Park, 23rd and Strand, will offer visitors a wide array of fresh produce and homemade treats. There will be a wide variety of regionally grown/produced organic produce, goat cheese, eggs, fruits, vegetables, fresh Gulf shrimp and catch of the day. For early risers, breakfast burritos, Mexican pastries, and freshly baked scones and Jamaican meat pies will be available. The following homemade products will be for sale: Amish peanut butter, juicy pineapple pickles, spelt and herb breads, honey butter, local honey, all natural salsa and spices.

The Galveston Farmers' Market is a year round, open air market, held the 2nd Saturday of each month, at Saengerfest Park., 23rd and Strand. The first Galveston Farmers' Market was held on Saturday, November 18, 2006, coordinated by Renee Adame, director of special projects for G-1 Corporation, an affiliate of GPM Inc. The Historic Downtown Galveston Partnership (HDGP) took over the management of the Market in March of 2007.

Those in search of a special gift for yourself or someone else, you will find a unique selection of all natural bath salts, moisturizer, fragrant candles, wind chimes and Galveston photographic collages and note cards.

This event is free to the public. It is sponsored by the Historic Downtown Galveston Partnership, an organization that operates in partnership with Galveston Historical Foundation.
