Galveston Farmers’ Market
November 10th
8:00 to 2:00
Saengerfest Park (23rd & Strand)
The Galveston Farmers Market is a free monthly event held the second Saturday of each month at Saengerfest Park. The Market is sponsored and organized by the Historic Downtown Galveston Partnership, a non-profit organization and an all Volunteer Committee. This month we are celebrating our 1st Anniversary and we would like to thank all of you who have supported this event over the past twelve months. We are already making plans for upcoming Farmers’ Markets, so keep us on your calendar for the 2nd Saturday of each month.

Galveston Gardeners
If you have a bumper crop and would like to share it with your neighbors, please join us for the November 10th Farmers’ Market. The Galveston Gardeners Community Booth is a free space for our local backyard gardeners to sell their home-grown fruits, vegetables, herbs & cut flowers. Each gardener is responsible for selling their own items, providing bags and change. So, if you are interested in sharing “Gifts from your Garden” at the Market, please contact the Historic Downtown Galveston Partnership 409.763.7080.
Meet Our New Vendor
Amber Bass-Patterson, of Linger Natural Products, will be bringing her exceptional hand-made soaps, which are crafted from nature’s finest ingredients, to gently cleanse and soften the skin.
On Stage
We are delighted to welcome The Ball High Cheerleaders who will be performing at 10:30 and The Weis Middle School Owlettes who will be on stage at 1:00.
Local Retailer Booth
T.F. Hippies will be joining us at our Retailer’s Booth. This is a delightful shop filled with "Cool Toys & Fun Gifts". Stop by, you may find some great "Stocking Stuffers".
Community Booth
Students & parents, from the Galveston Catholic School, will be at our Community Booth, offering lots of wonderful sweet treats. Their Bake Sale is a fundraiser for the 8th Grade student trip to Washington D.C in April.
Customer Feedback
We have received comments from our patron’s, about the limited quantity of fresh produce offered at the Market and also what produce is being offered, is not all locally grown. In response to these concerns, a policy has been established, that all of the produce sold at the Market would be locally grown, any exceptions would require the approval of the Committee and will be clearly marked.
Our Continued Quest
We would like our patrons to know how dedicated we are to providing the best our region has to offer, so we continue our search to find Farmers within our area (150 mile radius from Galveston). However, the reality is, that there are relatively few farms within our region and the few that are, have already committed to Mainland Markets or do not have the manpower or time to bring their produce to the Island. We welcome any assistance from the community, to help us in our search for more local produce.
Come early and enjoy a breakfast burrito, Mexican pastry, freshly baked bread & scones or a Jamaican meat pie. An assortment of yummy homemade food products will also be available.
If you are in search of a special gift for yourself or someone else, you will find a unique selection of all natural bath salts, soaps, fragrant candles, wind chimes and Galveston photographic collages and 2008 calendars.
So come join the fun, we will be ready to greet you at 8:00 am, rain or shine!
