Galveston Historical Foundation’s Annual Meeting Set for July 15 at Garten Verein

Galveston Historical Foundation (GHF)’s executive director Dwayne Jones and outgoing president Dr. Cheryl Vaiani will lead the organization’s annual meeting on Friday, July 15 at Garten Verein, 2704 Avenue O. The event begins at 5:30 with hors d’oeuvres and libations. Dress is “Island Casual.” The event is open to all members of Galveston Historical Foundation. Memberships will be available for purchase at the door or are available online here.

The main order of business is the election of officers, directors and advisors for 2011-2012, along with an overview of GHF’s accomplishments over the past fiscal year. The annual meeting will include the “passing of the gavel” from outgoing board president Dr. Cheryl Vaiani to incoming president Joe Willhelm.

The meeting will also be the venue for a number of GHF awards recognizing volunteer service, including the President’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service, Outstanding Galveston Historic Homes Tour Volunteer, Outstanding Dickens on the Strand Volunteer, and GHF Phoenix Award.
