Galveston County Historical Museum: Current and Upcoming Exhibits
"Faces of Flight"
"Faces of Flight" exhibit to open March 10 at the Galveston County Historical Museum.
“Faces of Flight,” an original exhibition tracing a history of man and birds on Galveston Island, will open with a reception, 5:30-8 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Galveston County Historical Museum, 2219 Market, in Galveston.
The exhibit features photography and research by Galveston resident Ted Lee Eubanks, Jr., a noted photographer, naturalist and experiential tourism consultant. Eubanks also is president of Fermata, Inc. Eubanks, lead author of “Birdlife of Houston, Galveston and the Upper Texas Coast,” will be present for discussion and autographs of the “Faces of Flight” poster.
The poster and the exhibit feature dramatic, close-up photographs of some of the birds that Eubanks has banded on Galveston Island over the last 15 years for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Eubanks said, “I hope these photos capture the art, spirit and individual beauty of these birds.”
The reception will include refreshments. For more information about the exhibit, call the Galveston County Historical Museum at 766-2340.
