"Galveston: Gateway on the Gulf" to Air on KUHT, Houston PBS Channel 8

Between 1835 and 1935, more than 200,000 immigrants from all over the world entered the United States through Galveston, Texas. This Houston PBS documentary tells the story of how immigrants shaped the island’s business, social and cultural history. This program was partially filmed on ELISSA in 2008 with a number of volunteers participating in period dress. The same group also went to the Railroad Museum for filming. This was all done early one morning before the venues were open to the public and represented a lot of work by the volunteers.
