Windstorm Exemption

As part of the Partners in the Field grant, GHF will work to expand the successful Texas Historical Commission’s Windstorm Exemption programs throughout the island and all of Galveston County. The program is offered to buildings that are at least 50 years old and retain most of their original architectural features.

Many towns in Galveston County, despite having wide-ranging periods of settlement, have structures eligible to receive a windstorm exemption.
