1859 St. Joseph's Church Rental Information

The painted interior of the Galveston’s oldest wooden church building makes an excellent venue for a traditional wedding ceremony.

The oldest German Catholic Church in Texas and the oldest wooden church building in Galveston, St. Joseph’s was built by German immigrants in 1859. Now desanctified and open for private events, this gothic revival church is distinguished by its elaborately detailed coffered wooden ceiling, delicately painted wooden sanctuary, original pews and hand-carved altars.
