The event will utilize the historic park, as well as the 1880 Garten Verein, and will feature a craft beer garden, live entertainment on the outdoor stage as well as numerous lectures and hands-on workshops.

Additionally, many of the nationalities that originally immigrated through Galveston’s harbor from the late 1800s to the mid-1920s will be on hand throughout the park, sharing their culture through vendor tents, exhibits and more. 2016 PERFORMANCES & LECTURES

LECTURES – INSIDE THE 1880 GARTEN VEREIN

CROWDSOURCED POP-UP EXHIBIT – 10 AM – 5:30 PM

Last month, we put out a call for Galveston’s community to submit items they had from family members who immigrated to Texas. We really wanted to give people a chance to tell their own family’s story. Most exhibits are created from the top down, with museums and curators telling the public what they think is important. By crowdsourcing the objects for this exhibit, we’re letting the community tell us what is important. The exhibit will feature family photographs and objects highlighting local individuals. When you learn about immigration and then have the ability to tie it to a specific person, that history becomes more tangible. Learn more about this special exhibit here.
