Galveston Historical Foundation has always been an organization driven by active and devoted members and volunteers. Thousands of them come together to put on its two big fundraising events each year—the Galveston Historic Homes Tour and Dickens on The Strand, Galveston’s internationally acclaimed Victorian holiday festival. Whether your interest leans toward architectural preservation, maritime history, Victorian costumes, or envelope stuffing, GHF needs and welcomes your help.

There are many ways to get involved with GHF:

You can join the foundation as an individual or business member, after which you will be the recipient of a wide array of benefits, including invitations to exhibit openings and members-only parties and special events, free admission to GHF properties and attractions, discounts at GHF stores and on Kwal and Sherwin Williams paint, and a subscription to Galveston Preservation News, GHF’s member magazine.

You can become a volunteer – once a year, once a month, once a week or every day. Whatever your interest or skill level, we have a job for you, from serving as a docent at the Galveston Historic Homes Tour, to working onboard the ELISSA, to doing graphic design or copywriting for the Office of Marketing and Public Relations.

You can offer a monetary or an in-kind donation. As a not-for-profit organization, GHF is always seeking new funding partners to help it continue its aggressive and effective community redevelopment and historic preservation programs, including neighborhood restoration, downtown redevelopment, and educational programs for both adults and children.

Join Us: GHF preserves, revitalizes and celebrates the architectural, cultural and maritime heritage of Galveston Island. To join GHF, one of the largest local historic preservation organizations in the country, is to join in a mission. Your membership in GHF supports an array of outstanding museums, innovative educational programs, award-winning preservation programs, and nationally recognized special events such as Dickens on The Strand and the Galveston Historic Homes Tour.
