Members of Galveston Historical Foundation’s African American Heritage Committee are compiling recipes and stories for an upcoming book and are asking the public for help. The project, focusing on African American restaurants and recipes of Galveston, needs stories, photographs, recipes and ephemera from businesses that were owned by African Americans.

Names of some of the places being researched include, but are not limited to; The Squeeze Inn, Marion’s Barbeque, Honey Brown’s, Gus Allen’s places, T. D. Armstrong’s Fountain and Albert Fease’s Café and Jambalaya.
