Performances are free to the public with on-site beer and wine\, select vendors\, and a reserved VIP area with reserved seating\, complimentary drinks\, meet and greets\, and more. \nABOUT THE DERAILERS | The Derailers are a high-energy country band known for their irresistible blend of honky-tonk\, rockabilly\, and roots-driven twang\, channeling the spirit of classic country while delivering a fresh\, road-tested sound. Formed in Texas and shaped by deep influences from Buck Owens\, Merle Haggard\, and the Bakersfield tradition\, the band gained national attention with a string of acclaimed albums and charting singles in the late 1990s and early 2000s\, including Reverb Deluxe and Here Come the Derailers. Celebrated for tight harmonies\, infectious rhythms\, and electrifying live shows\, The Derailers have toured extensively and earned a loyal following by staying true to country music’s dancehall roots while keeping it loud\, fun\, and unapologetically authentic.

It serves as a window into the supply chain and a complex web of systems that make up this industry\, allowing viewers to peek into the lives of the people whose livelihoods and health are forever intertwined with it. Learn more at centerforpeople.com.\n\nABOUT CARRIE RODRIGUEZ\n\nCarrie Rodriguez\, a composer\, violinist\, and singer from Austin\, Texas\, finds beauty in the cross-pollination of diverse traditions. She melds fiery fiddle playing\, electrifying vocals\, and a fresh interpretation of new and classic songs with an “Ameri-Chicana” attitude. Carrie began playing the violin at age 5; by age 10\, she had performed as part of a group at Carnegie Hall\, and she continued on the classical track in her first year at Oberlin Conservatory. She then shifted gears to pursue her love affair with the fiddle—staying true to her Texas roots—at the Berklee College of Music.\n\nAs a singer-songwriter\, she has released 5 solo studio albums\, 3 duet albums with the legendary Chip Taylor (author of “Wild Thing” and “Angel of the Morning”)\, and 2 live albums. Her last full-length solo recording\, the bilingual Lola\, was heralded as “the perfect bicultural album” and was included in NPR’s Best Albums of 2016\, as well as Rolling Stone’s Best Country Albums of the Year. Carrie has performed on stages across North America and Europe\, as well as on programs such as PBS’s Austin City Limits\, The Tonight Show\, and NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts.\n\nIn 2017\, Carrie founded a highly acclaimed ongoing concert series at the Paramount State Theatre in Austin\, Texas\, called Laboratorio; a celebration and exploration of Latine culture. Her most recent work has been as a composer and lyricist for an original musical\, ¡Americano!\, which chronicles the true story of an inspiring DREAMer named Tony Valdovinos. The musical enjoyed a successful 6-week run off-Broadway at New York City’s New World Stages in June 2022\, and also earned Rodriguez a nomination for a 2022 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Music. Carrie lives in Austin with her husband and frequent musical collaborator\, Luke Jacobs\, and their 9-year-old son\, Cruz.

DESCRIPTION:A St. Joseph’s Debut!\n\nRhett Miller is a revered singer-songwriter known for his more than three decades fronting the popular rock band Old 97’s who were honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2025 Americana Awards at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. After two independent releases\, Miller and the 97’s signed to Elektra Records and released the critically acclaimed Too Far to Care. Their 13th studio album American Primitive was released on ATO Records in the spring of 2024. Between projects with the Old 97’s Miller has released eight solo albums\, most recently 2025’s A lifetime of riding by night.\n\nIn addition to his songwriting\, Miller has branched out to write short stories\, essays and articles that have been featured in Rolling Stone\, Bookforum\, Sports Illustrated\, McSweeny’s\, The Atlantic and Salon. He has also published two children’s books via Little Brown Young Readers.\n\n\n\nRhett’s podcast\, Wheels Off: Conversations about Creativity\, which recently passed 200 episodes\, features well-known guests from all areas of the arts. Rhett has appeared in films\, most recently Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special\, in which he performs a song he cowrote with director James Gunn. His songs have been used in countless movies\, television shows and commercials \nRhett teaches songwriting at The New School in Manhattan\, conducts an annual Songwriting Is Magic retreat in the Catskills\, and has led workshops elsewhere\, notably at the Sanibel Island Writers Conference\, Chicago’s historic Old Town School Of Folk Music\, and at the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University.
