Galveston Historical Foundation (GHF), in partnership with the City of Galveston and the Galveston Fire Department, will host two educational sessions focused on fire safety for historic buildings. The sessions are free and open to the public and will be held at Wortham Auditorium inside Rosenberg Library. The session will also be livestreamed on this page and recorded for future access.
The workshops are part of GHF’s ongoing commitment to the preservation and protection of Galveston’s historic architecture. Chris Harrson, Fire Marshall with the Galveston Fire Department, will provide a presentation on best practices for fire safety in historic structures. In addition, Catherine Gorman, the City of Galveston’s Historic Preservation Officer, will present an overview of the permitting process for installing sprinkler systems in these properties.
