The PVIL existed from 1920-1970 to govern extracurricular activities for Black high schools in Texas during segregation. This presentation will highlight the all-star football games played in high school stadiums across the state, of which Galveston’s Kermit Courville stadium remains the sole survivor of the era.

Incorporated in 1954, Galveston Historical Foundation is one of the nation's largest local preservation organizations.
