Juneteenth Mini-Lecture: Notable African Americans of Galveston

June 21 @ 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Presented by Tommie Boudreaux (member of GHF’s African American Heritage Committee), this Juneteenth mini-lecture is held in Galveston’s Juneteenth Exhibit – “And Still We Rise…” and touches on various pieces of history, connecting to Juneteenth and Galveston Island. During June, we will feature weekly mini-lectures each Saturday inside the exhibit.

Lectures are included in your admission to the exhibit. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth (6-18), and free for children 5 and under.

“And Still We Rise…” draws from over 16 interviews and numerous historical documents and histories. In addition to the recorded contemporary histories, the site features numerous digital touchpoints interacting with the collected photos, stories, and research while connecting to other resources on Juneteenth Island.
