Preservation U: Mosquito Fish Ponds

Join us for a hands-on Preservation U! Building on our Native Planting workshop; we will demonstrate how to build and maintain a mosquito fish pond. These small ponds are easy to construct, even easier to maintain, and can effectively lower the mosquito population in your yard without using chemical insecticides. Participants can ask questions, hear from experts, and even go home with a few starter fish. This event is free and open to the public, but please be aware that we are hosting this event in conjunction with Galveston’s Own Farmers Market. Street parking is limited.
