Along with the rest of the world, we've been watching NASA Artemis II's voyage around the moon. The roots of space exploration are tied deeply to those of sailing. Our Galveston Historic Seaport : Home of the 1877 Tall Ship Elissa has enjoyed a long partnership with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration over the years, hosting astronauts, engineers, and more as they learn maritime skills that translate to their work well beyond our waters. Galveston's own Christina Koch, as well as Catherine "Cady" Coleman, who graciously took a piece of ELISSA with her to the International Space Station during her time there in 2011, have spent time onboard the Official Tall Ship of Texas.
