David Ramirez Live at the 1859 St. Joseph’s Church
October 2 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$25

David Ramirez returned to music on his own terms. After stepping away in the wake of a long relationship and choosing to process his grief privately rather than turn it into a heartbreak record, the Austin-based singer-songwriter rediscovered his creative center. With six full-length albums, three EPs, numerous collaborations, and a supergroup project (Glorietta) behind him, Ramirez set aside career expectations to focus purely on the joy of making music.
The result is All the Not So Gentle Reminders, a 12-song, dreamlike album that leans into atmosphere, expansive arrangements, and the emotional pull of sound itself. Written during a secluded retreat in Waverly, Alabama, and recorded at Spectra Studios near Austin with co-producer Christopher Boosahda and a close-knit group of collaborators, the record explores memory, dreams, fleeting love, and hope. Lush and ambitious, it reflects Ramirez’s renewed commitment to authenticity—embracing music not as a means to an end, but as an end in itself.
