===========GHF Chief Creative Officer's Log: 12 noon, Sunday, June 28th, 2026===========ABERDEEN TO TODAYIt's easy for those of us whose work is connected to ELISSA's to get used to her place around us. Her outline, literally and figuratively, is part of Galveston and its history. The past few weeks of this voyage have been an incredible reminder of her impact for those who don't have the good fortune of being near her. Each stop has been full of earnest appreciation for the ship, the crew, and the voyage. Our past few days in Chesapeake City have been no exception. Thanks to everyone for the photos, comments, and updates. Seeing our ship's reflection in your communities has been amazing.ELISSA's story is an impressive one. Built in 1877. Rescued and restored in the 1970s. She sails today thanks to countless people who invested time, dollars, research, labor, and love. These few photos capture incredible moments of her in Greece, undergoing work that would eventually bring her to Galveston. She visited Galveston twice in the late 1800s, and it's a tangible connection to our island's maritime history that we still celebrate today. Each of those individuals, and all who have visited her deck (and those who will see her in the coming weeks), is part of her continuing story. Simply put, we can't wait to welcome you on board. The next few days will be filled with preparations both on the ship and on land as we prepare for her arrival in New York City.
