From sea to shore, we're soaking up every minute o From sea to shore, we're soaking up every minute of our time in Boston. We've seen over 5,000 guests across our deck, showcased the incredible crew of the Official Tall Ship of Texas, sold a bunch of awesome @galveston250 merchandise, and even had a proposal on our Parade of Sail!

We're open 11-5 today and tomorrow, and then we're off to Savannah for our next stop. Come make history with us on the 1877 ELISSA.

Boston! You showed us an incredible welcome yester Boston! You showed us an incredible welcome yesterday in the Parade of Sail (we set 18/19 sails!), and we are ready to show you a Texas-sized hello at @SailBoston from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Wednesday. Join us at Fan Pier (next to ReelHouse Oyster Bar), walk the decks of the Official Tall Ship of Texas, meet the crew, and get some official merch.
ELISSA has been to Boston before... but it’s been ELISSA has been to Boston before... but it’s been a while.

Our first recorded visit came on May 6, 1883, when ELISSA arrived from Aracaju, Brazil, carrying more than 6,000 bags of sugar consigned to Gossier & Company. She remained in Boston until May 22, though the historical records don’t tell us what cargo filled her holds when she departed.

She returned a second time on November 1, 1888, arriving from Rangoon, Burma (present-day Yangon, Myanmar) with a cargo of rice and teak. After nearly two months in port, ELISSA sailed for Cádiz, Spain, departing on December 20.

Now, nearly 138 years after that last visit, ELISSA is returning to Boston for only the third time in her 149-year history, not as a working merchant ship, but as a living ambassador for maritime heritage. The same ship that once carried cargo around the globe now carries the stories of the people and ports of her past.

This week, we’re honored to join @sailboston, and welcome visitors aboard the 1877 ELISSA as she continues her history-making @galveston250 voyage. Every return to a historic port reminds us that this isn’t simply a ship revisiting old destinations; it’s history sailing back into the harbors where it was first written.

If you’re in Boston, come aboard and help us welcome ELISSA, details are at galveston250.com/boston.

It feels good to be back!
