Contestant Applications : Galveston Island Revue Weekend

Retro swimwear is chic and vintage is king as contestants from across the country catwalk across Galveston’s historic settings modeling vintage and vintage-inspired swimwear and attire that echo the “good ole days” of Galveston’s summertime history. Classic pinup styles, the likes that Esther Williams, Marilyn Monroe, and Bettie Page made famous, will heat up the island as contestants vie for cash prizes and top honors.

2024 APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN

• This year’s event features two competitions. Friday night’s Revue Prevue debuts a cocktail-attire contest, while Saturday’s event features the traditional bathing beauties contest. All entries are required to participate in both evenings. Contestants will be judged in both with total scores determining the overall Revue Weekend winners.
• Registration is limited to the first 30 accepted applicants.
• Contestants are chosen based on the quality of their vintage or vintage-inspired swimsuit and cocktail attire and are not selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. We encourage applicants not to apply until they have completed their applications.
• Applications must be filled out in full, including a picture of your actual vintage or vintage-inspired swimsuit. Applications that are missing information will not be accepted. Changes cannot be made after submission.
• The application fee will be returned to you if you are not accepted as a contestant.
• You have not been accepted until you are notified via email of your acceptance, which will include your contestant packet with contest information.

ABOUT THE GALVESTON ISLAND REVUE WEEKEND

Galveston’s summertime celebration of the island’s vintage past returns June 7-9! This year’s event highlights numerous GHF properties for a weekend of classes, parties, contests, and more. Based on island events from summer seasons past, like the Pageant of Pulchritude and Splash Day, the Galveston Island Revue Weekend was resurrected into a contemporary event in 2009. Each year contestants from around the United States vie for prizes, sashes, and more while the assembled crowds enjoy a weekend of retro fun.
